If your fluid is foamy or if it has air bubbles in it make sure you have correctly bled the system for air. If you have and it is still foamy then this means your system is sucking up air while running. If your pump is making noise this is also made because of the air. If you have a leak in the system then you will have to fix the leak and this should solve the problem. If you do not have a leak it does not mean that the system is not sucking up air. You will have to check all of the fittings, crimps, and connections that are in your system to make sure they have a perfect fit. These are the most common areas for air to be sucked in. It is a hard task to find the air leak but if you have any questions always feel free to give Unisteer a call at 1-800-338-9080 and we will be happy to assist you.

We finished the Polaris RZR UTV Doors for the 2008, 2009, and 2010 models! We have plenty of pictures of them in red, but they come in just about any color. They have a solid frame too, so they will hold up to an accident.
Doors are a necessary item for safety in your RZR UTV because they keep objects from coming in and they keep your legs from falling out. I once saw a man stick his leg out on a roll over and the UTV crushed him. Polaris RZR UTV doors will help you protect yourself from yourself!
Our doors attach to the frame and roll bar of the Polaris RZR in locations where there is no drilling or welding needed for installation. The RZR doors have an easily accessible safety latch and will open as far as you need. Plus, they give you the full length of the doorway unlike some other brands that make you pay extra for this feature. You can order the Polaris RZR UTV doors on our website by clicking here or give us a call at (800)338-9080. One of my favorite things about these new Polaris RZR UTV doors, and one of the most important, is that they look good too!!!
Over MLK holiday weekend, it was back to Glamis! Having had some experience in the desert it was less of a shock to me, yet still a blast. I learned a few more things about camping in the desert but also about caring for the Unisteer Kawasaki Teryx. I learned 2 simple things that can help keep a UTV running at peek performance in the desert. First, you do not need to have true sand tires to keep your UTV from digging into the sand as I did on my first trip. My big all terrain/mud tires worked; all I had to do was let some of the air out of my tires. This provided my UTV with more traction due to increased surface area of the tire. I kick myself now because after doing it I realized that I had done this before. (During a trip to the deserts of Namibia, my family and I had to do the exact same thing when we got our truck dug into the sand.) Second, I found that it was important to change the air filter often while riding in the desert. If the air filter gets clogged up with a lot of sand and dust, it robs the UTV of power and takes away from the performance. These are simple common sense ways to keep your UTV running in tiptop shape. During this trip I also had the opportunity to ride along with some truly experienced dune riders who showed me the capabilities of these amazing vehicles. Given that I have never really ridden in the dunes, I am still pretty hesitant behind the wheel, but this ride was nothing short of amazing. We were running pedal to the metal across the dunes and I could almost reach out and touch the sand as we careened around a dune, that is if I hadn’t strapped myself down as tight as possible into the 5 point. While it was a blast, I still feel I need a lot more experience before I take our Teryx out with those guys. Over all, it was another good trip to Glamis and a great way to start off the New Year. I am looking forward to Presidents Day weekend when I will be back in action at Glamis.

As I wander around the country from event to event, I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the fine people that make our sport a reality. Everyone from event coordinators to UTV dealers of every kind have different views and opinions about how the industry is progressing through the challenging economic period our country is facing.
On a whole, many of the people, especially dealers, see the UTV industry slowing down. It would seem, and justifiably so, that people are cutting back on their passion for UTV’s as well as ATV’s until things become more stable. It is sad but true that one parts manager I talked to was a hero to his bosses for only being down 7% in sales this year.
Even with the present situation there is still optimism and hope within all facets of the industry. Dealers and Event coordinators alike feel that this storm will pass and none of them seem to be worried that their doors will close any time soon. Even with the decline across both the retail sales of vehicles as well as aftermarket products, people are still getting out to do what they love and dealers and manufacturers are able to keep providing for their passion. With the New Year will come new opportunities and growth and everyone seems confident that things will only get better.
For now I will have to be content with the snow, that is at least until Martin Luther King Day in January, when I can get back to the dunes of Glamis.

Our electric power steering system is called Electra-Steer. Electra Steer is a compact electric assist unit that reduces steering effort up to 35% compared to manual steering. These kits include the motor, computer, wiring harness, and mounting hardware. This electric power steering kit is limited for vehicles up to 3,000 lbs. It runs off of your vehicles existing 12 volt charging system. The only other items you will need for the universal electric power steering kit are two couplers or u-joints. The input and output shaft size and spline count is a 9/16-30 spline. For further directions on the Unisteer electric steering kit please download our installation instructions by clicking here and selecting #30.
It has been a week since my first experience at the Glamis Dunes. After spending $5 in quarters at the quarter vacuum of the car wash, I was finally able to get all of the sand out of the Kawasaki Teryx. I am pretty confident that most of that sand was gathered while digging my UTV out of the sand.
Now that I have had time to reflect, I have spent time thinking about what I was missing and what I will need to take with me when I return in January. One thing is for certain, I will take a thicker sleeping bag. I was just barely warm enough in the back of the Unisteer Trailer, and I don’t want to underestimate the desert in the dead of winter.
After blasting off from Glamis, I took my show on the road. I spent a week in Logandale, Nevada. During the week, I visited UTV dealers in southern Nevada and southern Utah. On a whole it was a productive week spent showing our products to dealers and generating interest in Unisteer Products.
Overall Glamis was wicked. I cannot wait to get back into the sand and sun but for now the snowy mountains will do. Back to snowy Colorado…
Until next time,
Mad Max

Roaring across the desert in the Unisteer F-250 with trailer in tow, I could feel the excitement of Glamis rising within me. This being my first trip to the desert I had no idea what to expect. I knew I was drawing near by the simple cautionary yellow road signs of only one word. Dips. Crossing the train tracks I entered into what was hourly becoming a small city. Thousands of RVs and trailers stretched across the imperial sand dunes, and I was quite certain I had arrived in the dune capital.
As a mid-westerner, I had never really ridden before in the desert or in the sand. The trails of the east are beautiful, no doubt, but the sand and the dunes are a whole different animal. One of the things that really struck me was the whips. (For those of you not familiar with California law, whips are flags on very thin polls that attach to the vehicle and are required when riding in the dunes.) Having hastily installed my own whips only days before, I was shocked by the variety of sizes, shapes and different logos found on this necessary accessory.
Now it was time to test my metal in the desert. I set out for a short ride through the dunes to see what whoops really felt like. (Whoops are really just a bunch of small dips right in a row. The name comes from the sensation you feel when taking them at speed. Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!) Inevitably, I got stuck with my rear tires dug into the sand. With a helping hand and friendly advice to “hit the gas” and not stop I was off again enjoying the sunshine.
During the day it filled me with pride to have people drive up to the trailer with their UTV’s and call out that they absolutely loved their Electra-Steer! It was also rewarding to help riders get back out to the dunes by providing them with our replacement rack and pinion, Rackzilla. The chilly nights were spent around a warming fire with hours of laughter and libations. I can truly say that the location, people and entire atmosphere of the event was extremely enjoyable and I am looking forward to my next trip to Glamis in January.
Until then it’s back to Colorado.
