This month’s Feature Ride is Mark Devenings’ 1986 GMC 2500 truck, a work in progress which includes a Unisteer Mustang II Rack & Pinion along with several other upgrades

Mark converted the 2500 to a dual rear axle ride and added 24.5 inch Volvo semi wheels and full air ride suspension. Other enhancements include full custom interior, section 8 inches out of the long bed and installing a Cali combo in place of the tailgate. full custom exhaust, stereo system resto mod heat and air conditioning polished aluminum radiator, and a shortened driveshaft with slip joint.

Mark says, "The truck was a longbed but I shortened it 8 inches so it's not really a long bed and it's not a short bed. It has a built big block 454. I'm using a Unisteer Mustang Rack & Pinion, steering shaft and U-joints.

"323 Duallysportz did the work on my wheels. Michigan Metal Works built my control arms and it has a porterbuilt front dropmember.

"The engine bay has slosh tubs firewall filler panels fender filler panels and radiator support filler panels all from the company slosh tubz. I back halfed the frame it has a watts link, parallel 4 link and cantilever system for the rear suspension. Full disc brake conversion."

Mark continues, "I bought the truck 3 years ago. The top picture was a year ago and the second is what it looked like when I bought it."

He plans to have the restoration complete by the end of the year.

When asked why he chose Unisteer, Mark replies "well what can I say. They are better machined. The universal joints don't have slop in the movement in them. The Double D steering shaft is machined smoothly and better fitment. If I need any other steering parts I'll be using Unisteer products!"

Thanks Mark for choosing Unisteer!  We look forward to seeing the final result!
